Fancy something different to nibble on than the normal cream cracker & cheese or chocolate bar? Well why not try these lovely tasty savoury biscuits made with garlic and fresh carrot? The perfect swap! Deliciously scrumptious as they are or indulge and top with your favourite cheese and a spoonful of chutney - you've then got yourself a tasty little snack! INGREDIENTS 100g jumbo oats 100g self-raising flour 50g butter 60ml water 1 carrot grated, and squeezed ½ tsp garlic granules Pinch of salt METHOD Preheat oven 180ºc / 160º fan and line a baking tray Put the jumbo oats and flour into a mixing bowl and rub in the butter using your finger tips until you have the consistency of bread crumbs Stir in the grated carrot, garlic granules and salt Next add the water a little at a time until you have a dough Sprinkle some flout onto a clean work surface and roll out your dough to the thickness roughly ½cm Using a cookie cutter, ...

Sweet Cinnamon Potato Biscuits

A super quick recipe, ready on 30 minutes! Just 4 ingredients needed! These biscuits are light, fluffy and take on a lovely orange colour from the sweet potato.  All the sweetness in these biscuits is from the potato and cinnamon, if anymore sugar was added they would be far to sweet. INGREDIENTS 150g self raising flour 150g sweet potato 70g butter, melted Cinnamon - as much as you fancy METHOD Preheat oven 190ºc / 170º fan Cook your sweet potato your preferred way. These cookies are a quick, easy healthy sweet treat any time of day! INGREDIENTS 100g ground almonds 50g desiccated coconut ½ tsp baking powder ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda 1 large egg, lightly whisked 85g honey 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract (not essence) METHOD Preheat oven to 160ºfan / 180ºc  and line a baking tray with some grease proof paper In a large mixing bowl combine the ground almonds, coconut, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda Add the, honey and vanilla into the dry ingredients and mix everything together until everything is combined. Buttery Shortbread Thins

Just 3 ingredients to make these delicious melt in the mouth shortbread thins. Not so healthy though, none the less they go down a treat with a hot afternoon cuppa INGREDIENTS 24g caster sugar 34g butter, sofened 44g plain flour METHOD Beat together the caster sugar and butter in a small bowl until pale and smooth. Sift the flour into the mixture, mix until all is combined and use your hands to bring the dough together Roll the dough into a sausage shape, wrap tightly in some cling film and pop in the fridge for at least an hour or until the dough is solid Preheat your oven to 200ºc / 180º fan and line a baking tray Unwrap the cling film and slice the sausage into rounds, approx 8mm in thickness. Place onto your lined baking tray and bake for approx 15 minutes or until the edges are beginning to turn brown/golden Leave to cool for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely

Man size Chocolate Chip Buttery Shortbread - can you handle it? Only 4 basic ingredients needed! INGREDIENTS 24g caster sugar 34g butter, softened 44g plain flour Chocolate chips (quantity you decide) METHOD Beat together the sugar and butter in a small bowl until pale and smooth. Mix in the flour until all is combined, you may have to use your hands to bring the dough together Roll the dough into a ball, place on your baking tray and flatten until the dough is about 1½cm in thickness and then refrigerate for at least an hour or until the dough is nice and firm Preheat your oven to 200ºc / 180º fan Place in the oven on the middle shelf and bake for approx 15 minutes or until the edges are beginning to brown Leave to cool on tray for 5 minutes then transfer to wire cooling rack

Wholemeal Dairy Free Chewy Apple and Cinnamon Oat Cookies

NO ADDED SUGAR - FAT FREE - DAIRY FREE Without Sultanas  These wholesome cookies make the perfect snack to keep you going between meals or as an on the go breakfast! They're soft and delightfully chew, yet firm enough not to make a mess. With Sultanas  INGREDIENTS 1 egg  280g (approx) jar Apple sauce 1 tsp cinnamon 1 ¼ cups oats ½ cup plain wholemeal flour (sultanas optional) METHOD Preheat oven 180ºc / 160º fan Mix all ingredients together in a bowl Use a spoon to scoop the mixture into mounds/balls on the baking tray making sure you leave enough room between each cookie. The mixture will be sticky. Then using the back of a spoon flatten down each one to make a cookie shape. I find using a metal spoon dipped in cold water helps with this mix. Bake for 25-30 minutes, allow to cool for 10 minutes the carefully place on a cooling rack

Wholemeal Dairy Free Chewy Banana Oat Cookies

SUGAR FREE - FAT FREE - EGG FREE - DAIRY FREE These wholesome cookies make the perfect snack to keep you going between meals or as an on the go breakfast! They're soft and delightfully chewy, yet firm enough not to make a mess. INGREDIENTS 1 tbsp chai seeds  2 tbsp water 350g banana (approx 2 ½ medium bananas) ½ tsp cinnamon 1 ¼ cups oats (115g) ½ cup plain wholemeal flour (50g) METHOD Preheat oven 180ºc / 160ºfan  Place the chia seeds in small container with the water and leave to sit for 10 -15 minutes, until they begin to gel. In a medium bowl mash your bananas, and stir through your chia seeds Add the oats, cinnamon, flour and mix well until everything is combined. You should get a cookie dough that has a slightly sticky texture Using a metal tablespoon scoop the mixture and place rounds on your prepared baking tray. Cherry Bakewell Oat Biscuits

Approx 40 calories per biscuit Makes 9 biscuits INGREDIENTS  50g oats  ½ tsp baking powder 1 tsp almond extract 4 glacier cherries 1 small/medium egg METHOD  Preheat oven 190ºc / 170º fan Place all your ingredients into a small food processor and blend until all the ingredients are combined, but be careful not to turn mixture into a paste as you still want texture with your oats. If you find your mixture is very wet just add a few more oats.  Spoon walnut size balls of dough onto a lined baking tray and then flatten slightly with the back of a spoon (you should get 9 biscuits) Place in the oven on the middle shelf and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until biscuits start to go a golden brown Once baked leave on tray to cool for a couple of minutes, then remove and place on a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.

We've all heard of Fig Rolls and we've probably all tried a fig roll at some point in our life, but now there's the Date Roll! A lovely sweet date centre encased with oats and wholewheat making it a healthy wholesome sweet snack. WHAT YOU WILL NEED Food processor Mixing bowl and spoon Measuring cups and spoons Grease proof paper Square baking tray (9"x 9")  INGREDIENTS  FOR THE BISCUIT 1 cup (100g) porridge oats ¾ cup (90g) wholemeal self-raising flour 1 medium egg 1½ tsp vanilla essence 3 tbsp (45ml) honey FOR THE FILLING 1 cup of dried dates ½ cup of boiling water METHOD  1. Plenty of sweet carrot with hearty oats accompanied with that lovely taste of cinnamon, which makes just want to go back for seconds.  The cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, but believe me they won't last long! 4 Ingredient Yeast Free Low Fat Savoury Eatlean High Protein Smoked Cheese & Marmite Loaf

INGREDIENTS 2 cups self-raising flour (I used 1 cup wholemeal & 1 cup white) 2 cups grated Eatlean High Protein Smoked Cheese or your own choice 1 1/4 cups of skimmed milk or your choice 1 tbsp Marmite METHOD Preheat your oven to 160c / 180 fan / 350f Lightly grease a small loaf and place to one side In a large mixing bowl, sieve your flour, add your cheese, Marmite and milk and mix until all your mixture is well combined Allow mixture to sit for two minutes Pour mixture into your loaf tin Place in the oven on the middle shelf and bake for approx 25-30 minutes, or until lightly brown in colour and cooked through the middle Remove from the oven and leave in tin for approx 5 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack  Cool completely before storing in an air-tight container 

Carrot and Ginger Flourless Giant Oat Cookies

No added sugar Fat free Makes 2 giant cookies APPROX 150 calories per cookie INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup of oats 1 egg 1 tsp ground ginger 1 tbsp Whitworths Fiery Crystallised Ginger (chopped) 1/4 fresh carrot grated METHOD Preheat oven 220c / 180 fan and line a baking tray Put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well until all the mixture is combined. The mixture will be quite wet/sticky. If it is very wet just add a little more oats. Place half the mixture on baking tray and shape into a giant cookie leaving enough room for the second cookie Place in the oven and bake for approx 20 minutes for a soft cookie Leave on baking tray to cool once removed from the oven, unless you can carefully remove to  a wire rack TIP   If you prefer a chewy firmer cookie, once cookie is baked and oven is turned off, leave cookie in oven to cool

Crumbly Chewy Wholemeal Healthy Spiced Oat Biscuits

A sugar-free biscuit Crumbly, oaty and chewy, everything you could want in a biscuit! INGREDIENTS 50g porridge oats 50g wholemeal flour 50g fruit purée 50g light olive spread, melted 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp mixed spice (Sultana’s optional, I put a few in) METHOD   1. Preheat oven to 190c/170 fan/gas 5 2. Line to baking trays with grease proof paper 3. Place all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix well until all is combined 4. Place walnut size portions of the mixture onto your baking tray leaving room between each one. Flatten slightly using the back of a teaspoon or fork 5. Place biscuits in the oven for approx 15 minutes or until they start to take on a golden colour.  6. Leave the biscuits on the tray to cool and to firm up.

High Protein Low Calorie Oat Biscuits - just 4 ingredients!

Deliciously light and tasty Guilt free, yet satisfyingly indulgent Low Calorie - Fat Free - Sugar Free This recipe makes approx 10 biscuits You will need a small food processor or something similar  INGREDIENTS  40g oats 30g Protein powder (your choice of flavour, I used strawberry shortcake) 1 egg, medium 1/2 teaspoon baking powder METHOD 1. Preheat oven to 200c /180 fan and line a baking tray 2. Place all your ingredients into your food processor and blitz/pulse until they are all combined being careful not to over pulse as you want the oats to remain with some texture 3.
